Papillo as he is fondly called was capped 87 times and scored 12 times for Nigeria.

He is the most successful Nigerian player as he has won all the trophies in the round leather game with the exception of the World Cup.

He joined Arsenal in 1999 and won two premier league titles as well as the FA cup. He earlier won the UCL with Ajax in 1995 and also played for Inter Milan, West Brom Albion and Portsmouth before he hung his boots.

He is happily married to former Miss Amarachi Onyeador and the union is blessed with children.
